Interview on March 23, 2017 with John Fugelsang host of SiriusXM's Tell Me Everything, about Four Crises of American Democracy, published by Oxford University Press in January 2017.

Fugelsang says: “The political climate in the 2016 presidential election has only reinforced the perception that we are in a state of crisis. Roberts’ new book is amazing in how well it distills and explains the root causes of the crises facing our democracy and how they might be addressed.  It is informative and also compulsively readable.”

Comments at CIDE: Does “Public Management studies” have a future?

October 21, 2016

These short comments were made during at a conference on October 20, 2016 at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), marking the 40th anniversary of its Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration.

The question for the panel was: Does "Public Management studies" have a future?  My response: Yes, if it does a better job of addressing the challenges faced by most countries and most of the world's population.  There are 195 countries in the world: it is probably that only a small proportion -- maybe three or four -- produce most of the scholarly articles in the domain of public management.
